NOTICING, INSTRUCTION, AND L2 ORAL PRODUCTION: AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON MOTION VERBS
This study investigated the relationship between noticing (SCHMIDT, 1990, 1995) and accuracy of lexicalization patterns of motion verbs – the target
structure – in L2 oral tasks, and whether instruction improves participants'
accuracy performance. Results suggest that there is significant correlation between these variables and that L2 learners benefit from instruction.
